AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club and helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to score 20 goals in a single year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. Morgan was selected to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
