Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American author and designer who has won numerous awards for her writing and design. She is a proponent of animal rights. Her work has received acclaim by films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969), and The Getaway, (1972). The desire to become an artist was in part influenced by her upbringing as a member of the New York family of artists. She began as a photo assistant, before progressing to modeling and acting. In her first two films, she was recognized as a winner of her the Golden Globe Award as Most promising young actress. MacGraw's film Love Story was an international smash, and earned her the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. After only three movies MacGraw was named one of the most successful women at the box office in history. The Grauman's Chinese Theater recorded her signature with handprints, foot prints and handprints in 1972. The actress has appeared in a variety of different films, such as The Getaway Convoy Players and the miniseries on TV The Winds of War among others. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was released. MacGraw was married to three individuals.
